Build your online reputation with link building

link building tips

It is no longer enough just to have a good product and a beautiful website. There is much more to (online) success. You will probably have heard or seen terms such as SEO and SEA, but there is a good chance that link building is a new term for you. And no, link building is not creating a good URL (although that is also important of course). In this blog we explain what link building is and what it can do for the success of your website.

What is link building?

Link building is not literally building a link, but it comes close. You build something with the help of links. Link building is building authority by getting other websites to link to your website. This can of course happen organically, because someone is a fan of your company or product and writes about it in a blog, but you can also take matters into your own hands by asking or by building a link building network.

Internal link building

You can also work on your link building on your own site, by making sure that you use relevant links within your website to other pages on your site. For example, is there an accessory that perfectly matches the product, or can you refer to an inspiration page? You naturally want to make it as easy as possible for the visitor to navigate through your website, just like when a customer physically walks through a store.

But why link building?

As mentioned, link building helps to increase your online reputation and internal link building contributes to user-friendliness, but what does it actually deliver? Good link building contributes to a higher position in the search results, because it is part of Search Engine Optimization (SEO). SEO is the entire package of activities and actions that you take to ensure that Google ranks your website higher for the search terms that are relevant to you. The better Google ranks your website, the higher you come in the search results and the more traffic you will get to your website.

Sounds tricky?

Does this all sound a bit difficult? It is. In particular, building a link building network is not something you can do in a day. That is why it is advisable to use an online marketing agency for this. They often already have an extensive link building network that you can benefit from and, moreover, they know exactly what needs to be done to set it up as well as possible.
